The Definition of SRI
Socially Responsible Investment (SRI), Sustainability, Environmental Social and Governance (ESG), there are many names it but it refers to one area, investment in companies that go beyond the demands legislation. Investment in companies that show they are responsible citizen’s in the communities in which they operate, show concern for their employees and the environment. SRI portfolios are constructed by the selection of companies based on a number of indicators regarding three main categories: People Planet and Profit.
The SRI Universe
All smaller European companies that meet or exceed ethical, social and environmental performance standards are included in the SRI universe and we are able to invest in these companies for our sustainable portfolios one of which is the Orange Sense Fund. Companies that pass our strict criteria are able to use the SRI logo as a sign that they have met our socially responsible standards.

The Kempen SNS Smaller Europe SRI Index
The Kempen SNS Smaller Europe SRI Index (SRI Index) is the first index to track the performance of SRI smaller companies in Europe. The SRI index was created with SNS Asset Management (SNS) and Kempen Capital Management. The index represents all SRI approved, companies from the HSBC Smaller European Companies Index.
Why a SRI Index?
The purpose of the index is to provide its users with detailed and objective information on the performance of sustainable smaller European companies. Additionally, the index has increased awareness of SRI and acts as a incentive for other quoted smaller companies to adopt sustainable policies. The Kempen SNS Smaller European index is a relevant benchmark for investors, enabling measurement of the performance of sustainable Smallcap companies.
